Brandon Blaine Layne passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington on November 28, 2025, leaving Pikeville and the heart of Eastern Kentucky in sadness. Brandon passed away far too young at the age of 40, but his family and friends will always cherish the warmth of his smile and the unconditional love he showed.
Mr. Layne was born in Pike County on July 9, 1985, to Lola (Slone) Layne. He was raised in the beloved Appalachian highlands. He represented the ideals of his town and was well-known for his diligence and ability to laugh quickly. He found happiness in the small things in life, whether he was traveling back roads, fishing on the Levisa Fork, or watching sunsets from the porch.
Mr. Layne’s life revolved on his family. His mother, brothers, nieces, nephews, and a large network of cousins and acquaintances who considered him family all survive him. He was known for bringing vitality to every event, providing assistance when needed, and uplifting people’s spirits with kindness and humor.
Pikeville has suffered a great loss with Mr. Layne’s demise. His laughter will always be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness and camaraderie will live on.
On Sunday, November 30, 2025, there will be a visitation at the Community Funeral Home in Pikeville. On Monday, December 1, 2025, there will be funeral services. To honor a life that impacted many, family, friends, and community members are welcomed.
Brandon Blaine Layne will be remembered for his generosity, love of the Appalachian highlands, and commitment to family. Everyone who had the good fortune to know him still cherishes his memories.
