Born in Cranston and raised in the neighborhoods of Warwick, she carried throughout her life a remarkable, open hearted warmth that made everyone feel like family. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. Bettyjo was a tirelessly devoted mother to her children, Erick Dawson Jr. and Brittany Von Epp. She was their biggest supporter, cheering from the sidelines at every game, celebrating academic and personal milestones with genuine pride, and providing a foundation of unconditional love that gave them the confidence to pursue their dreams. Alongside her longtime companion, Michael DiTomasso, she cultivated a home that was a true haven.
