On November 27, 2025, Orange County was shattered by a tragic double homicide on Thanksgiving Day. The victims, 41-year-old Sharon Bonilla Viera and 38-year-old Victor Alexander Aldana Perez, were shot in the 600 block of Cedar Bend Circle.
Deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire and found Perez deceased at the scene. Viera was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center but succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office identified 47-year-old Christian Vargas Pagan, Viera’s estranged husband, as the suspect. Pagan, who had been ordered to leave the apartment days earlier, allegedly ambushed the victims following a domestic dispute. He was captured on surveillance footage fleeing and was arrested without incident later that evening. Pagan now faces two counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
The investigation revealed a history of domestic disturbances at the residence, including a recent violation of a protection order. Detectives confirmed the attack was targeted. In response, Sheriff John Mina reaffirmed the department’s dedication to domestic violence prevention and urged those in need to reach out to resources such as the local hotline at 407-836-4357.
Sharon Bonilla Viera grew up in Orlando’s vibrant communities and was known for her resilient and caring spirit. A dedicated mother, she balanced her work in the hospitality industry with joyful moments spent with family at places like Lake Eola Park. Colleagues remember her patience and guidance during busy shifts, and she often volunteered her bilingual skills to support immigrant families at community events.

Though her life was taken far too soon, Sharon’s legacy of kindness, strength, and love endures. The Orange County community mourns her loss and stands together in grief, calling for greater awareness and action to prevent domestic violence.
