Braylynn S. Fahy Death – Fort Plain NY Woman Has Died at 30 Following Road Accident

Fort Plain and the Mohawk Valley are grieving the tragic death of 30-year-old Braylynn S. Fahy on Monday evening, December 1, 2025, in a violent collision on the New York State Thruway near Albany. The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. on I-90 westbound, just after Fahy merged from the Exit 24 acceleration ramp off I-87.

New York State Police say that once on the Thruway, Fahy’s 2018 Chevrolet Traverse crossed all lanes of traffic for reasons still under investigation. As the vehicle moved across the highway, it was struck broadside by a 2025 Cadillac Escalade traveling in the left lane.

The impact was catastrophic, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged and debris scattered across the roadway. Traffic came to a standstill as emergency crews from Albany and Colonie rushed to the scene.

Despite immediate response from first responders, Braylynn was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Escalade sustained minor injuries and was treated at Albany Medical Center. Troopers from Troop G continue to investigate, reviewing dash-cam footage, witness statements, and possible mechanical or medical factors.

Braylynn grew up in Fort Plain, where she was known for her bright smile and quiet determination. She graduated from Fort Plain High School and later earned her nursing assistant certification, working in local healthcare facilities where patients and coworkers loved her gentle, caring nature.

She was a devoted mother, sister, and daughter whose world revolved around her family. Friends remember her as the one who always showed up with homemade cookies, who never missed a school event, and who could light up any room with her laugh.

Fort Plain has lost one of its own far too soon. Braylynn S. Fahy lived with love in her heart and kindness in every step. Her sudden absence leaves a silence no one knows how to fill, but her memory will live on in every hug her family gives and every life she touched with her care.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family. Until then, the Mohawk Valley holds Braylynn’s loved ones close and remembers a young woman whose light will never truly fade. Rest easy, Braylynn. We’ll carry you with us.
