Desiree Nguyen, 32, of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2025, leaving behind a heartbroken family and a community stunned by the loss of a young mother whose strength and quiet determination touched everyone around her.
Born in Houston to Vietnamese immigrant parents, Desiree grew up in the Alief neighborhood and graduated from Elsik High School before earning an associate degree in early childhood development from Houston Community College. She worked for eight years as a lead preschool teacher at a southwest Houston daycare, where children and parents alike adored her patience and creativity.
A devoted mother, Desiree dedicated herself to raising her six beautiful children, always putting their needs first. Weekends revolved around library story times, soccer practices at Bear Creek Park, and making homemade pho together while singing along to Disney playlists.
She found joy in small, meaningful routines: braiding her daughters’ hair each morning, tending a modest container garden of mint and Thai basil on her apartment balcony, and volunteering monthly at the Houston Food Bank’s weekend backpack program for schoolchildren.
Friends remember Desiree’s infectious laugh, her habit of checking in with late-night encouragement texts, and the way she always carried extra snacks in her purse for anyone who might need them. Her resilience through life’s challenges inspired many who knew her story.
A public visitation and celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home in Stafford, with the family requesting donations to a college fund established for her daughters in lieu of flowers.
