He was born on January 14, 1959, to Leo Jackson Harrell Sr. and Mildred Eaton Harrell, Lamar grew up in the heart of Decatur County, where the bonds of community and the lessons of Bainbridge High School shaped his grounded outlook. The Bainbridge community now grieves the loss of a man whose steady spirit and artistic gifts enriched daily life in this historic southern town.
Lamar devoted his career to construction, specializing in roofing and framing. His strong work ethic and practical skill earned him respect among colleagues and clients, while his craftsmanship contributed to the growth and upkeep of homes throughout Bainbridge’s neighborhoods and rural areas. His dedication to this demanding trade underscored his reliability and perseverance, qualities that became hallmarks of his professional life.

He delighted in his grandchildren, Gavin Fowler and Corbyn Harrell, and maintained close bonds with siblings Leo (Vicki), Larry (Gloria), and Eloise (Steve) Wacaser, all of Bainbridge. His affection extended to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services were held on December 15, 2025, at Cox‑Ivey Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Larry Harrell, with interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
