Jerry McGuire, 59, was struck by a white 2024 GMC Sierra close to Village Boulevard on November 12, 2025, in the predawn darkness while he was standing in the northbound lane of State Route 28.
At 6:06 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers arrived and declared the Incline Village resident dead on the spot. The terrible pedestrian death is confirmed by updated information that was made public on November 20.
Jerry oversaw grounds and amenities with great care throughout his more than 25 years as a maintenance supervisor at a well-known resort in Incline Village. In the 1990s, Truckee Meadows Community College awarded him a certificate in facilities management. His gentle leadership and deep understanding of high-altitude property care were highly appreciated by colleagues.
Jerry and his 32-year wife lived in a lakefront condominium and maintained close relationships with their two grown children who resided in Reno and Carson City. His grilled trout from Lake Tahoe excursions were a common feature of family weekend meals. His north-shore life was steadily built upon these ties.
Jerry adopted an early-morning lifestyle, taking regular walks along the east side pathways of Tahoe for fitness and introspection before to his work shifts. He made coffee on the veranda while watching the sunrise over the lake as part of a strict regimen. On the weekends, he worked on carpentry projects in his garage, creating personalized furniture.
Jerry enjoyed outdoor activities such as winter cross-country skiing at nearby trails and seasonal fly fishing on the Truckee River. Through the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, he volunteered to maintain hiking trails. His lifetime love of the Sierra Nevada nature was evident in his passions.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is still looking into several aspects of the marked travel lane event, such as visibility and potential driver impairment. The GMC driver stayed on the scene and gave his full cooperation. While officials examine more lighting near Village Boulevard, Incline Village pays respect to Jerry by the lake.
