In 1947, she undertook a transformative relocation to the United States, an act reflecting both bravery and resolve to establish new prospects, initiating a heritage that would extend across two continents.
While residing in Detroit, Michigan, she attained United States citizenship, adopting her new nation while preserving the customs and essence of her Scottish origins. In Detroit, she encountered Walter Salmon, who became her life partner; they married in 1951. The couple subsequently moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, constructing a life founded on family, faith, and community. Their residence evolved into a haven of hospitality where their two children were nurtured with affection and direction.
Her dedication to her family was absolute. She is survived by her daughter, Lesley Salmon, and her son, Stephen Salmon, along with his spouse, Jackie. Her influence persists through her grandsons, Ganson and Brogan Salmon, who embody her loving and determined nature. Additionally, she leaves a multitude of nieces and nephews throughout the United Kingdom and Canada, indicative of her extensive, affectionate, and globally dispersed kinship network.

This occasion will allow for the sharing of recollections, reflection upon her exceptional path, and the honoring of a woman whose narrative originated in Scotland and became rooted in the sentiments of those in Indianapolis.
