Wyatt “Clay” Nettles, Jr., a cherished Scranton, South Carolina citizen, has passed away quietly at McLeod Hospice House on November 26, 2025, at the age of 64.
Known for his commitment to community, family, and religion, Clay led a life characterised by diligence, compassion, and a passion for the great outdoors. Although his loss leaves a profound hole in the lives of those who knew him, his legacy will go on.
A pillar in Clay’s life, he was a committed member of Grace and Glory Ministries. His church community, where he was respected for his commitment and service, gave him courage and a sense of purpose.
His congregation and acquaintances in Scranton, South Carolina, were profoundly impacted by his spiritual dedication, which directed his behaviour and offered consolation to those around him.
In addition, Clay was well-known for his commitment to Cam Branch Timber, Inc., his logging company. He gained respect from his peers and the industry for his leadership and work ethic. Outside of his career, he enjoyed being outside, going fishing, hunting, and playing golf. His love of the outdoors and his aspiration to live life to the fullest, embracing both work and play with equal fervour, were mirrored in these passions.
In addition to numerous other family members who treasured his presence, he is survived by his son Wyatt Clay “Trey” Nettles III, his daughter Elizabeth “Liza” Nettles Howell, and several grandkids. He is remembered by his family as a devoted father, grandfather, and family member whose insight, humour, and counsel will last a lifetime. In the lives of those he leaves behind, the relationships he cultivated will carry his soul on.
On November 29, 2025, Wyatt “Clay” Nettles, Jr. of Scranton, South Carolina, will be honoured by friends and family at Carolina Funeral Home. A graveside service will thereafter take place at Lake City Memorial Park. They will consider the love, faith, and resiliency he leaves behind as they commemorate his life. Even though his earthly journey is over, everyone who is grieving his loss will find solace and inspiration in his memory.
