Alex Byers Obituary | Tampa FL Resident Remembered After November 7 Passing

Tampa is heartbroken after 31-year-old Alex Byers lost his life in a tragic single-vehicle accident on November 7, 2025. The crash happened just after 11 p.m. on West Hillsborough Avenue near the Veterans Expressway. Florida Highway Patrol says Alex was driving his pickup truck when it left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the truck to veer off the road. Speed and impairment are being examined, but no final results are pending. The accident closed Hillsborough Avenue for several hours while troopers reconstructed the scene.

Alex grew up in Tampa, a true hometown kid who loved everything about the Bay area: fishing in Tampa Bay, tailgating at Bucs games, and weekend barbecues with friends and family. He had a laugh that carried across a room and a way of making everyone feel like they had known him forever.

He worked hard in construction, taking pride in building things that lasted. After work, you could find him on the water, at the gym, or just hanging out with his tight-knit crew, always the one telling stories and cracking jokes. Alex was the friend who showed up when you needed him, no questions asked.

Family meant everything to Alex. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend who lived for Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings. His sudden absence has left a hole no one knows how to fill.

Tampa has lost one of its own far too soon. Alex Byers lived with heart, loved with loyalty, and left behind a city full of people who will miss his smile every single day. Funeral arrangements will be shared by the family. Until then, Tampa keeps his loved ones close and remembers a man whose warmth made the world a better place. Rest easy, Alex. We’ll save you a seat at the next cookout.
