It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce sudden loss of Anmol Kiran Kaur Bassi, 31, of Hayward, California, who died unexpectedly on November 29, 2025, in Oakland. They leave behind a career in behavioral health and a life defined by resilience, empathy, and cultural pride.

Born November 20, 1994, in California, Ms. Bassi grew up in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School in 2012. They earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, East Bay, in 2016, a foundation that fueled their passion for mental health advocacy.

Professionally, Ms. Bassi worked for five years as a behavioral health technician at a Fremont outpatient clinic, supporting clients through therapy sessions and crisis intervention. Colleagues praised their intuitive approach to building trust and promoting wellness. They also volunteered with South Asian mental health initiatives, facilitating workshops on stigma reduction.

In family life, Ms. Bassi was a devoted sibling and child in a close‑knit Punjabi‑American household, often hosting gatherings filled with traditional music and homemade samosas. They shared a loving partnership with a longtime companion, cherishing quiet evenings exploring Oakland’s art scene.
