Regina community is grieving the sudden and unexpected loss of Anthony Marquart on November 23, 2025, at the age of 53. His warm smile, quiet strength, and genuine kindness made him a friend to everyone he met. Anthony left us far too soon, but the love he gave will stay with us forever.
Anthony grew up in Regina, where the wide Saskatchewan skies and neighbourhood rinks shaped a boy who always looked out for others. From playing road hockey with the kids on the block to helping neighbours shovel snow, he learned early that real strength is shown in small, everyday acts of caring.
He spent his working life in the trades, taking pride in building and fixing things with his own hands. Colleagues respected his skill and his honesty; customers trusted him because he never cut corners and always treated people fairly. Whether he was on a job site or stopping by a friend’s house to lend a tool, Anthony made everyone feel valued.
At home, Anthony was simply the best. He was a devoted partner to Patty Gourgaris, the kind of man who still held her hand after all their years together. He was a proud and gentle father to his children, coaching their sports teams, cheering at every game, and teaching them that hard work and kindness go hand in hand. His family was his whole world.
Anthony loved the simple things: fishing on Last Mountain Lake, barbecuing in the backyard, cheering for the Riders on game day, and sitting around the fire pit sharing stories with friends until late at night. He had a laugh that filled the room and a way of listening that made you feel truly heard.
Regina has lost a good man. The streets feel a little quieter, the coffee shops a little emptier, and every porch light seems a little dimmer without him. Anthony Marquart showed us how to live with heart, and that lesson will live on in every person he touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Anthony’s life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Speers Funeral Chapel. Everyone who knew him is welcome to come share memories, swap stories, and honour a life that meant so much to so many. Until we meet again, Anthony—thank you for the love you left behind.
