Brendan S. McKinney, a 28-year-old resident of Celina, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2025, after being struck by a southbound semi-tractor trailer while walking along U.S. Route 127 north of the city. The early morning incident, reported around 3:14 a.m. in Jefferson Township, resulted in McKinney being pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic pedestrian crash.

Born on February 14, 1997, in Dayton, Ohio, to Pastor Randy and April (Pontious) McKinney of Elyria, Brendan graduated from Midview High School in Grafton in 2015. He built a career at Crown Equipment Corporation in Celina and maintained ties to Cross Community Church in Elyria. His professional life reflected dedication and reliability in the local workforce.

Above all, McKinney treasured his role as a father to children Hadley, Holdyn Bullock, Meryda, and Wallace McKinney. He found joy in outdoor pursuits, including camping, hiking, and relaxing in his hammock. Family gatherings often centered around shared home-cooked meals, highlighting his appreciation for simple, meaningful connections.

A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. This will be followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Dr. Joshua Steinke. Memorial contributions are encouraged to support the McKinney family.
