The accident occurred around 6 a.m. in foggy conditions. Carolina was a passenger in a northbound Honda HR-V that veered into oncoming traffic, striking a southbound Ford F-150. California Highway Patrol officers arrived quickly, but Carolina had sustained fatal injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The CHP investigation is ongoing, with factors such as speed, visibility, and road conditions under review. Toxicology reports are pending, and authorities are asking any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward.
