A beloved resident of Pinehurst, North Carolina, Charles (Chuck) Oscar Moeser, has sadly passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was born on June 14, 1937, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Oscar F. Moeser and V. Virginia Boliek Moeser.
After graduating from Huntington East High School in June 1955, he entered the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and graduated in 1960 as a Metallurgical Engineer, later earning a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University on June 9, 1979.
On September 5, 1959, he married his college sweetheart, Helen J. Kuster. His distinguished career began at the Buick Motor Division of General Motors, after which he served in roles including Quality Control Manager, Foundry Manager, and Vice President of Burnham Corporation in Zanesville, Ohio. In 1985, Chuck moved his family to the Seven Lakes area of North Carolina. He and Helen later purchased and managed Matthews Market in Pinehurst for 14 years before his retirement in 2001.
Chuck was a committed and active member of his community. He was an involved member of Pinehurst United Methodist Church, serving as an usher, on the Church Council, and as an assistant financial secretary. He also served on the board of the nonprofit Family Promise.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Helen; his four children, Laura K. Kramer (D. Scott) of Columbus, Ohio; David C. Moeser (Lola) of Upper Arlington, Ohio; Daniel J. Moeser of Williamsburg, Kentucky; and Matthew J. Moeser (Ellen) of Durham, North Carolina; his sister, Gloria J. Noll of Radford, Virginia; and his grandchildren William, Allie, and Stephanie Kramer and Reese Moeser.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Pinehurst United Methodist Church, with Jabe Largen officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Pinehurst United Methodist Church or to Family Promise.
