Damon Dennis Davis of Hanover, Onatrio, a 17-year-old high school student was killed in a single-vehicle crash east of town on November 11, 2025.
Born on August 27, 2008, to Andrew and Lisa Davis, Damon was the eldest child whose spirited determination left a lasting impression on family and friends. The accident also claimed the lives of two classmates, deepening the sorrow across John Diefenbaker Senior School.
Damon grew up in a close-knit household with his parents, younger brother Connor, 14, and sister Abby, 12, fostering bonds strengthened by shared family traditions and playful rivalries.
As the firstborn, he displayed a bossy yet tender nature, often leading sibling adventures while revealing a huge heart through protective gestures. Extended relatives, including grandparents Ron and Sharon Davis and Sherry and Terry Juniper, enriched his world with farm visits and generational stories.
At Hanover Heights Public School, Damon built early foundations before transitioning to John Diefenbaker Senior Public School, where he thrived in Grade 11. He pursued a Specialist High Skills Major in Automotive Service Technician, submitting his application just before the tragedy, driven by a passion for mechanical problem-solving.
Damon’s lifestyle revolved around practical pursuits, influenced by his father and grandfathers, as he tinkered with farm equipment like tractors and lawnmowers in the family garage. He relished riding his grandmother’s ATV across the Peninsula farm, escaping into open fields for moments of freedom and reflection.
A summer role at Durham Furniture introduced Damon to tools and assembly tasks, igniting his vocational aspirations while teaching him the value of steady craftsmanship. He volunteered at the Hanover Care Centre, aiding events like the annual Christmas lights walk and once assisting his mother during a blizzard to support residents.
His servant-hearted approach extended to St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as an acolyte after baptism and confirmation.
Survived by his parents, siblings, girlfriend Abrianna Freiburger of three years, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved family dogs including Titan and Cloud, Damon’s private funeral follows public visitation on November 18 at Mighton Funeral Home.
A recorded service will be shared afterward, with donations directed to London Children’s Hospital in his name. His legacy of kindness and mechanical ingenuity inspires Hanover to nurture young talents with equal resolve.
