On December 1, 2025, the community of Stryker, Ohio, lost a beloved figure with the peaceful passing of Floyd W. Beaverson at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice. He was 59 years old. Surrounded by the love of his family, Floyd’s departure marked the end of a life rich in laughter, warmth, and the quiet strength that made everyone around him feel welcome.
Known far and wide as the “Grill Master,” Floyd had a gift for turning any gathering into a feast. Whether he was firing up the grill for a backyard cookout, a family reunion, or a simple Saturday at the campground, his steaks, ribs, and burgers were legendary—always served with a cold drink, a warm smile, and a story to share.
Floyd cherished life’s simple pleasures: camping trips with his wife Lisa and their children, long golf-cart rides through the countryside, fishing on the St. Joseph River, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes each fall. His booming laugh could be heard across the lake, and he had a special way of making every get-together feel like a celebration.
Above all, family was Floyd’s world. He is survived by his loving wife Lisa, his children and stepchildren who proudly called him Dad, and grandchildren who adored their “Papa Floyd” and his endless piggy-back rides. His home was always open, his smoker was always ready, and his heart was always full of love for one more hug.
Stryker has lost one of its own. Floyd W. Beaverson lived with laughter in his soul, kindness in his hands, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Though the campfires may burn a little dimmer and the golf carts roll a little slower without him, the memories he created will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2025, at Bridging the Gap Church in Stryker. All who knew and loved Floyd are invited to come share stories, celebrate his life, and honor a man who made Northwest Ohio feel like home.
