A cherished member of the Stayner community and a lifelong fan of junior hockey, Frank Santini of Wasaga Beach, Ontario, went away unexpectedly. The Stayner Siskins family and everyone who knew him are grieving deeply as they consider a life dedicated to the game and the people in his immediate vicinity.
Frank’s relationship with hockey was a recurring theme that formed his personality and characterized much of his time in the Stayner region, from his early days on the rink as a young player to years spent coaching and mentoring the next generation of athletes.
As a devoted member of the Siskins’ Board of Directors for over 25 years, he was instrumental in directing the development and success of the Junior C team, always putting the players’ welfare and the organization’s strength at the center of every choice he assisted in making.
Whether he was watching games from the sidelines, helping out behind the scenes at meetings and events, or discreetly looking for new ways to improve the experience for players, coaches, and fans alike, his love for the game was evident in the many hours he dedicated to the team.
This season, he demonstrated that same dedication by taking particular satisfaction in the team’s Carruthers Division title triumph over the Alliston Hornets, frequently praising the players’ efforts, and acting as their strongest and most outspoken supporter during the whole campaign.
Frank’s legacy of unwavering commitment, steady support, and genuine love for the game will continue to inspire those who knew him, even though his sudden passing leaves a noticeable void in the Siskins community and throughout the local hockey landscape. Heartfelt condolences are extended to his family and friends who treasured his steady presence.
