Jabion “JB” Jackson was killed in a senseless shooting early on November 29, 2025, and Albany is still in shock. The event took place on Carriage Lane in the South End of the city just before 1:30 a.m.
JB had numerous gunshot wounds when Albany Police arrived in response to many 911 reports of shooting. Despite police and paramedics’ quick attempts, he was declared dead at the site.
Several bullet casings were found by investigators, who are also looking into CCTV footage from the residential street. Detectives are asking anybody with information to contact Albany Police or Crime Stoppers at 518-462-8477; no arrests have been made. Although a motive has not been disclosed, the shooting appears to have been targeted.
Growing up in the neighborhoods of Albany, JB Jackson was the buddy that everyone trusted because of his warmth and devotion. JB had a way of making people feel recognized and appreciated, whether it was by lending a hand with a neighbor’s relocation, keeping an eye on an elderly person, or just laughing with the neighbors.
His family was the most important thing in his life. Sunday dinners, late-night conversations, and always being the first to provide assistance when someone needed it were all examples of how he was a loving brother and son. According to those who knew him well, he never asked for anything in return and lived to uplift others.
Too soon, Albany lost one of its own. After Jabion “JB” Jackson’s abrupt and violent death, his family is devastated and the community is looking for answers. Friends and neighbors are coming together with meals, prayer vigils, and support for his loved ones as police strive to deliver justice.
The family will make funeral plans public. Until then, Albany will cherish the memories of a young guy whose loyalty and generosity brightened the city a bit. You can relax, JB. We won’t forget your brightness.
