Jeff was a true Pittsburgher, raised in the neighborhoods of Squirrel Hill and Shadyside. Steelers games, trips to Primanti’s, and porch talks with neighbors were the rhythms of his life. He had a laugh that could fill a room and a genuine way of making everyone—whether a lifelong friend or a new acquaintance—feel seen and valued.
Professionally, Jeff built a respected career in insurance, known for his integrity and steady guidance. But his greatest legacy is the friendship he cultivated. He was the friend who organized the fantasy football league, never forgot a birthday, and showed up when it mattered—often with a six pack and a patient ear. His circle was vast because his heart was open, his loyalty unwavering.
Throughout his illness, Jeff faced each challenge with remarkable grace and humor. He continued to watch games with friends, shared his gratitude openly, and inspired everyone with his quiet strength and refusal to be defined by his diagnosis.
Pittsburgh has lost a beloved son. Jeff Cohen lived with laughter, loyalty, and light until the very end. His absence will be felt in every quiet tailgate, every group chat, and every shared toast among friends.
