The Knott County, Kentucky, community is in deep mourning following the passing of Jeffery Lumpkins, 39, who died on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Highland Arh Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. Born June 26, 1986, in Knott County to Jerry Wayne Lumpkins Sr. and the late Patricia Caldwell Lumpkins, Jeffery’s life was rooted in the Appalachian hills where family ties ran as deep as the local streams.

Jeffery grew up in the embrace of Knott County, attending local schools that instilled in him a strong work ethic and appreciation for community. He pursued practical skills through vocational programs, channeling his hands-on talents into roles in construction and maintenance, where his reliability made him a go-to neighbor for repairs and projects.

He shared an unbreakable bond with his father Jerry Wayne Lumpkins Sr., along with brothers Shannon, Jerry Jr., and Patrick, and sister Michelle, creating a home filled with laughter and unwavering support.
