Joshua Gianni Haire, a beloved resident of Midland City, Alabama, passed away on January 7, 2026. He was just 27. Born on June 19, 1998, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Joshua grew up with a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. His generous heart touched everyone around him. Family and friends feel the deep ache of his absence now.
He was a devoted dad above all else. His children, Brooklyn Delores Hornsby and Auden Mason, were the center of his world. Joshua poured everything into them. He shared his favorite things, built memories, and made sure they knew how much he loved them. Those kids brought out his biggest joy and pride.
Joshua came from a big, close family. His mother, Christina Chapa-White, raised him with love. He shared special bonds with his sisters Marianna Haire and her husband Robert, Donna Rodriguez, and Raeleigh Hudson. His brothers Dylan Kiley, Noah Hudson, and Rudy Rodriguez Jr. looked up to him too.
His grandmother Anna Chapa, aunts Maricela Wulfan and Crystal Chapa, uncles Louie Poma and James Knapp III all held him close. Cousins like Freddie Rodriguez Jr., Brianna Rodriguez, Tina Chapa, and Stanley Russell Jr. filled his life with laughter and support. Many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins will miss him dearly. He lost his father, Salvatore Poma Jr., before him, along with great-grandparents Howard and Donna Haire. Those losses shaped him, but Joshua kept moving forward with strength.
People remembered him for his hard work. He always gave his best to provide for his family. He made friends easily and kept them close. Special ones like Dave and Julie Mahler, and Allison and Ronnie King Jr., stood by him through everything. Joshua loved his faith in God. He got lost in video games for hours. And food? He had a real weakness for porkchops. Simple things brought him real happiness.
Friends and family will gather to remember him. Visitation happens Thursday, January 15, from 4 to 6 pm at Sunset Funeral Home on Barrington Road in Midland City. The celebration of his life follows on Friday, January 16, at 4 pm at the same place.
Joshua left behind so much love and good memories. His laugh, his helping hand, his way of making people feel valued. Those things stay with everyone who knew him. He lived fully in his short time, and his spirit keeps shining through his kids and family.
