Khalil Ahmadrian Gooch Death – Beloved Resident of Silsbee TX Died in Hardin County Shooting

On November 30, 2025, the Hardin County community was devastated by a double homicide that claimed the life of Khalil Ahmadrian Gooch, 29, of Kountze, Texas.

Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting report around 2:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Fresenius Road near Silsbee, where they found Khalil and 36-year-old Henry Carey Jr., also of Kountze, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities indicate the shooting was a targeted disturbance that followed a minor vehicle accident. The altercation escalated when suspects demanded compensation instead of involving authorities, and gunfire erupted after the victims did not comply. The investigation is ongoing, with two persons of interest detained and multiple agencies assisting.

Khalil grew up in Kountze and was a 2014 graduate of Kountze High School. He pursued vocational training in automotive repair and worked as a skilled technician in the local energy sector, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Colleagues and friends remember him as someone with an easygoing nature and a resilient spirit.

Beyond his job, Khalil was involved in his community, volunteering with youth programs and supporting local events. He was a devoted son and brother who cherished time with family, whether sharing meals or enjoying weekend outings along the Neches River.

His sudden and tragic death has left family, friends, and the wider community heartbroken.
