Leo Delissen, a beloved past director and life member of the Campbelltown Catholic Club whose decades of service helped shape one of Australia’s most successful community clubs has passed away. Leo died peacefully surrounded by family on November 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, passion, and tireless dedication.
Leo served on the club’s board for many years, including a term as director, during which he played a key role in major expansions and community programs that turned “The Catho” into a cornerstone of south-west Sydney life. His vision helped grow membership, upgrade facilities, and strengthen the club’s support for local schools, charities, and sporting groups.
Known for his calm leadership and genuine care for staff and members, Leo was the first to arrive for meetings and the last to leave events. He believed the club belonged to the people, not the boardroom, and he lived that philosophy every day.
Beyond the club, Leo was a proud family man, a lifelong Campbelltown resident, and a quiet supporter of numerous local causes. Whether sponsoring junior sports teams or helping families in need, he did it without seeking recognition.
The Campbelltown Catholic Club has lost one of its finest. Leo Delissen’s name is etched not just on honour boards but in the hearts of thousands who enjoyed the community he helped build.
