Lynne Ada Lucas (née Ross) drew her final breath on the evening of December 3, 2025, at Credit Valley Hospital, aged 82. After a brief and unexpected illness, she left this world gently, cradled by the hands of her husband Arnold and son Ross, who had scarcely left her bedside.
She was born in 1943 into a modest Ontario family that taught her early that love is shown more in actions than words. Sixty years ago she promised her life to Arnold Lucas, and together they turned a small Mississauga starter home into a lifelong haven of open doors, Sunday roasts, and grandchildren racing through the hallway. Their marriage was the quiet testament to partnership, patience, and the joy of growing old side by side.
For four decades Lynne guided strangers into neighbors as one of Peel Region’s most trusted real estate agents. She retired only in 2023, still fielding calls from past clients who trusted no one else to help them buy or sell. Known for arriving early with coffee in hand and staying late to explain every clause, she treated each closing like a family milestone—often sealing the moment with her famous butter tarts fresh from the oven.
Motherhood defined her most deeply. She raised Laurie (who passed before her) and Ross (married to Mizuho) with a fierce tenderness, then poured the same devotion into her grandchildren Madeline, Grace, and Joe—never missing a concert, game, or bedtime story request. Predeceased by her brother Art and sister Michelle, Lynne nevertheless remained the gentle glue holding an extended family together across generations.
Away from contracts and kitchens, Lynne coaxed prize roses from Ontario clay, volunteered at women’s shelters, and played a steady—if self-deprecating—round of golf with Arnold and their closest friends. Simple pleasures suited her best: a well-tended garden, a new recipe mastered, a child’s drawing taped to the fridge.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and a celebration of life service on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (venue details forthcoming from the family). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, a cause made personal by Lynne’s final days.
