Mary Sue Kendall Affectionately Known as “Burt” Death – Resident of Covington, Texas, Has Passed Away

With great shock and sorrow, we must share that Mary Sue Kendall (Burt), a dedicated resident of Covington, Texas, who was born in Osceola to Wyatt Armstead and Jeffie Aline Burt has passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2026. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. Her journey was marked by devotion to those she loved and a commitment to her community that never wavered.

While working at the First National Bank of Grandview, Sue met Joe Frank Kendall, the man who would become her husband for 64 years. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and together they built a family and a home filled with warmth and laughter.

Sue’s faith was central to her life. As a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Covington, she served faithfully as treasurer and led a women’s Sunday school class for many years. Her leadership and generosity touched countless lives, and her presence in the church community will be deeply missed.

She also found joy in simple pleasures. Sue loved playing 42 with her family and friends, cherishing the fellowship those games brought. A devoted Texas A&M sports fan, she delighted in watching games and laughing at her family’s playful superstitions and antics as they cheered from home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Covington, with Dr. Marc Burnett and Dr. Frank Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Covington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church, with family gathering at 9:30 a.m. to pay their last respects.

Sue’s life was one of faith, love, and service. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her church, and her community, who will continue to be guided by her example of kindness, devotion, and joy.
