Matty was more than just a familiar face in the lineup. He was part of the heart of Yaroomba Beach. He approached the ocean with a quiet passion that showed through in every session on the water and every moment spent on the sand. His authenticity and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone around him.
He spent his years fully integrated into the community while attending Nambour State High School. The person that so many grew to adore was shaped by those events. Matty formed relationships that went beyond mere friendship with laughing, experiences, and the simple joy of living by the sea.

Matty is survived by his father, John Hill; his mother, Dee Hill Bryers; his brother, Nathan Elliott; and extended family including Jodie Mulder. To them, the loss feels immeasurable.
