Mike Ritz of Sewell, New Jersey Community Has Passed Away at 52; Loved Ones Mourns

On December 4, 2025, the Sewell, New Jersey community was saddened by the unexpected passing of Mike Ritz at the age of 56. A lifelong resident known for his humor, generosity, and deep community ties, Mike’s sudden loss has left family, friends, and neighbors reflecting on a life lived with warmth and heartfelt connection.

Mike graduated from Washington Township High School in 1987, where he excelled on the soccer field, and later earned a business degree from Rowan University. He built a successful career as a sales manager for a regional pharmaceutical distributor, where he was respected for his professional integrity and his willingness to mentor younger colleagues.

Above all, Mike was a dedicated family man. He shared 32 years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Lisa, and was a proud and supportive father to their two sons. Weekends often revolved around coaching youth soccer at Pitman Park—an activity he cherished for the camaraderie and life lessons it offered—and family gatherings filled with laughter and love.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed early morning runs on local trails, coffee with friends at the diner, and volunteering with the Washington Township Historical Society, where he helped preserve the area’s rich history. An avid woodworker, he crafted custom birdhouses for neighbors and taught his sons the craft in his garage workshop. He was also a devoted Phillies fan, famous for his backyard watch parties and homemade cheesesteaks.

Though his time with us was far too short, Mike’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, humor, and unwavering community spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the goodwill he spread throughout Sewell and Washington Township will continue to resonate.

Rest in peace, Mike. Your laughter, love, and generous heart will not be forgotten.
