The community of Fountain, Minnesota, is mourning the loss of Tyler Heibel, who passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester. He was 42. Tyler’s sudden passing, following a brief illness, has left a deep void in Fillmore County, where he was known for his steady presence, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to his family and neighbors.
A lifelong resident of the area, Tyler grew up on a dairy farm outside Fountain and graduated from Lanesboro High School. He later earned a degree in agribusiness from Minnesota State College Southeast.
For nearly 20 years, he worked as a herdsman and crop specialist at a dairy farm near Preston. Respected for his deep agricultural knowledge and willingness to help during busy seasons, Tyler was a pillar of the local farming community.
At home, Tyler was a devoted husband to his wife of 18 years, Amanda, and a loving father to their three children. He filled their lives with love and activity—coaching youth baseball, supporting 4-H, attending school events, and sharing his passion for the outdoors. He cherished hunting in the Root River bluffs, ice-fishing with his kids, and restoring vintage tractors in his workshop.
Tyler’s quiet dedication extended throughout the community. He served faithfully for 15 years on the Fountain Fire Department, responded calmly to emergencies, and regularly delivered meals to neighbors in need after snowstorms. He also organized benefit auctions for families facing hardship, always acting with humility and compassion.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Fountain Community Center, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and a service at 1 p.m. Rest in peace, Tyler. Your hard work, gentle strength, and kind heart will be remembered by all who knew you.
