On Thursday night, January 15, 2026, in Ector County, a 52-year-old Odessa lady died in a horrific two-vehicle crash. The deadly collision happened at the junction of Southfork Avenue and SE Loop 338 at around 7:30 p.m.
Yaiset Almeida Ceregido was traveling east on SE Loop 338 in her 2005 Toyota Corolla when she slowed down to turn onto Southfork Avenue, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). At that point, a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck heading in the same way hit her car from behind.
The Toyota Corolla was running without the necessary back lights at the time of the collision, according to a crucial finding from the DPS investigation. As nightfall approached, this probably made the slowing car considerably less apparent to the motorist behind it. Ceregido was declared dead at the site after the impact of the rear-end collision killed her even though she was buckled up.
Daniel Granado, a 21-year-old Odessa resident, was identified as the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado. He was wearing a seatbelt as well, and the collision only caused minor injuries. After the collision, Granado stayed at the site.
