A 21-year-old man was shot and killed inside a vehicle early Thursday morning in southeast Dallas, in an incident that has since led to the arrest of four teenage suspects. Dallas Police Department officers were dispatched to the 7200 block of Great Trinity Forest Way at approximately 12:25 a.m. on January 29, 2026. The location is the site of the Trinity Apartments, a residential complex in the southeastern part of the city.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Christian Campbell, a 21-year-old resident, suffering from gunshot wounds while inside a car. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded, but Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred within the vehicle at that location.
Following the incident, Dallas police investigators made swift progress in the case. Authorities have arrested and charged four individuals in connection with Christian Campbell’s death. The suspects have been identified as 17-year-old Tommy Smith, and three 19-year-olds: Dataryven McGee, Deleon Reese, and Davien Mosley.
All four individuals have been formally charged with murder and were booked into the Dallas County Jail. The Dallas Police Department has not publicly disclosed a possible motive for the shooting, and the suspects’ mugshots have not been released as of this reporting.
