Shortly after midnight on November 23, 2025, Bristol Tennessee Police Department officers rushed to the 100 block of Lilly Street following reports of gunfire at a residence. They arrived to find three young adults shot, two already deceased from their wounds, while the third clung to life in critical condition.
The victims, all acquaintances of the shooter, had been gathered inside the home when Elijah Khalil Campbell, an 18-year-old from nearby Bristol, Virginia, allegedly entered and opened fire. Witnesses quickly identified Campbell, leading to swift action as authorities issued warrants for his arrest on multiple felony charges.
By Sunday morning, Campbell had turned himself in to Bristol, Virginia, police after calling to arrange his surrender. He faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
Currently held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, he awaits extradition to Tennessee, a process that could take days pending a hearing.
