Mary Jane Burcham Death Rienzi, MS: 5-Year-Old Daughter of Chaz and Hailey Burcham Has Died

With broken hearts but full of love, we share the news that our precious five-year-old daughter and granddaughter, Mary Jane Burcham, passed away on March 15, 2026. The entire Rienzi, Mississippi community comes together to honor her memory with her family following this untimely passing.

Chaz and Hailey Burcham welcomed Mary Jane into the world on November 22, 2020, in Corinth. She infused a unique brand of light into every day from the time she arrived. Her large, inquisitive eyes asked countless questions about the world, her laughs could light up any space, and her favorite cartoon, Bluey, became a part of every joyful time at home. She had the ability to make everyone around her feel happy, loved, and seen.

Even though her time with us was far too short, Mary Jane’s bright spirit touched everyone who knew her — family, friends, and neighbors throughout Rienzi and Alcorn County. In honor of the happiness and color she gave us all, her family has asked that everyone wear bright, cheerful clothes or Bluey-themed outfits to her service. They want this day to celebrate her life and the joy she spread, rather than focus only on sadness.

The family has chosen not to share the details of her passing at this time, and they ask for privacy and prayers as they walk through this difficult season. Chaz and Hailey have shown quiet strength and deep faith, leaning on each other and on the loving support of their community.

Mary Jane is survived by her parents, Chaz and Hailey Burcham; grandfather Thomas Burcham Sr.; grandmothers Stephanie Stewart and Amanda Gould; great-grandparents Kerry and Joye Burcham; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored her — including Austin and Samantha Burcham, TJ and Misty Burcham, Jordan and Beau Burcham, Amber and TJ Tracy, and Nick Middleton.

A Celebration of Life service for Mary Jane will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Greater Life United Pentecostal Church in Rienzi. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be led by Bro. Joseph Burcham and Bro. Tommy Callahan.

Everyone who knew and loved Mary Jane is warmly invited to come and remember her beautiful smile. Please wear your brightest colors or Bluey shirts — just as she would have loved. The people of Rienzi will be there to share stories, offer hugs, and surround the Burcham family with the kind of caring support that only a small town can give.

Mary Jane’s light may have left this earth, but it will keep shining in every heart that was lucky enough to know her. We ask for your prayers, your presence, and your continued love for this sweet family.
