Roger Wayne Sweetman Death – Lifelong resident of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, has died unexpectedly

With deep regret, we announce the passing of Roger Wayne Sweetman, 73, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, who died on May 9, 2026. Roger lived a life defined by quiet strength, patriotism, and unwavering dedication to his family and work.

Roger was an honorable member of the US Army and a proud Vietnam War veteran. Throughout his life, his service continued to play a significant role in who he was. He wed Valorie Joan Norman in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on July 16, 1984. Love, devotion, and support for one another were the cornerstones of their 41-year marriage.

Roger worked as a skilled house painter and residential contractor. He took genuine pride in his craftsmanship, paying careful attention to detail and helping build and improve homes across the Pauls Valley area. He was known for his reliability and the quality of his work.

Those who knew Roger remember him as a steady, hardworking man who valued his family deeply and approached life with integrity. He found satisfaction in honest labor and the simple pleasures of home and community.

Memorial services will be held by the family on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion in Pauls Valley. Services for cremation are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Roger Wayne Sweetman will be remembered as a proud Vietnam veteran, a devoted husband, and a skilled craftsman whose life of service, hard work, and quiet love left a meaningful legacy. Though he is gone, the values he lived by and the love he shared with Valorie and his family will continue on.
