Trevion W. Harper, 22, of Saginaw, Michigan, was killed early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, after being struck by a truck while skateboarding near the intersection of Davenport Avenue and North Oakley Street on the city’s West Side.
Police reported that the crash occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. when Harper was skateboarding in the roadway. A truck traveling westbound on Davenport Avenue struck him near the intersection with North Oakley Street. Emergency responders found Harper with severe injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was identified as a 39‑year‑old man from Warren, Michigan. He was not injured in the collision and remained at the scene, cooperating fully with investigators. Authorities confirmed that no arrests have been made and no charges have been announced at this time.
The Saginaw County Crash Team assisted with the investigation, documenting roadway evidence and interviewing witnesses. Police emphasized that Harper was skateboarding in the roadway during low‑light hours, a factor that may have contributed to the crash.
