California Singer Teesh Bobo Among Victims Killed in Oakland Bar Shooting on Saturday Morning

Early on Saturday morning, a horrific mass shooting at EZ’s Lounge in downtown Oakland resulted in two fatalities and five injuries, shocking the city’s nightlife scene. On March 7, 2026, at around 3:30 a.m., violence broke out inside the pub at 412 14th Street, which is only a short distance from Oakland City Hall. When Oakland Police Department officers arrived in response to several shooting reports, they discovered many individuals with gunshot wounds.

Authorities confirmed that seven people were shot during the incident. One of the victims, 33‑year‑old Teesh Bobo, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bobo was well‑known in the Bay Area as a singer, writer, producer, and an eighth‑grade teacher at Caliber Beta Academy in San Pablo. Her death has deeply affected both the local music community and the students she taught.

A second victim, a 25‑year‑old man, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite emergency treatment, he succumbed to his injuries around 11:30 a.m. the same day. Police reported that the remaining five victims sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious, with at least three hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigators said the shooting began during an argument inside the bar, though early findings suggest that none of the seven victims were the intended targets. The gunfire erupted suddenly, causing chaos as patrons scrambled for safety. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to determine how the confrontation escalated and who was responsible for firing the shots.

The shooting occurred shortly after Oakland’s popular First Friday street festival, which draws large crowds to the downtown area. EZ’s Lounge, located in a busy nightlife corridor, was filled with patrons when the violence broke out. Community members and city leaders have expressed concern about rising gun violence and the need for increased safety measures in entertainment districts.

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information or video footage from inside or outside the bar to come forward. The deaths of Teesh Bobo and the 25‑year‑old male victim have left families grieving and a community searching for answers. Authorities have not yet announced any arrests, and the case remains active as detectives work to identify the shooter and determine the motive behind the deadly attack.
