Cyrus Pino Death – Woodburn motorcyclist died in collision with pickup in Oregon

Cyrus Pino, 35, of Woodburn, Oregon, was killed Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026, when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Butteville Road NE and Le Brun Road NE. Police confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Woodburn Police reported that the crash occurred at approximately 5:43 p.m. when a Dodge pickup, driven by 35‑year‑old Caleb Doll, was turning left from Le Brun Road NE onto Butteville Road NE. At the same time, Pino was traveling southbound on Butteville Road on a Kawasaki motorcycle and struck the front of the truck during the turn.

Emergency responders, including the Woodburn Fire Department, Woodburn Ambulance, Marion County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team, and the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office, assisted at the scene. Despite immediate aid, Pino died from his injuries. The driver of the pickup was not hurt and remained on site, cooperating fully with investigators.

Authorities stated that preliminary information does not suggest criminal conduct in the crash. No citations or charges have been announced, and investigators emphasized that the driver showed no signs of impairment. The roadway was closed for roughly four hours while officers documented the scene and cleared debris.

Local officials noted that Butteville Road NE has been under review for safety improvements, with Marion County considering upgrades such as roundabouts at nearby intersections due to increased traffic from the I‑5 interchange and industrial sites. The crash has renewed attention on visibility and turning challenges at rural junctions like Le Brun Road.
