The morning commute on Interstate 580 in Livermore turned deadly just before 7 a.m. on April 30. A 67 year old man from Danville, later identified as Jordan Scott Bradshaw, lost his life in a crash involving three vehicles on the eastbound side of the freeway, east of North Livermore Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicles involved included a three axle semi truck pulling no trailer, a gray Nissan Armada, and a gray Toyota Tundra driven by Bradshaw. The force of the impact flipped the Tundra onto its side or roof. Bradshaw sustained injuries that proved fatal at the scene. He did not survive to be transported to a hospital.
The semi truck did not stop. After the collision, it continued moving eastbound, leaving behind a wrecked pickup, a damaged SUV, and a man who would never finish his drive. CHP has since launched an active search for the driver. No arrests have been made. The truck’s license plate and current location remain unknown.
The other drivers involved in the pileup walked away. No additional injuries were reported among the occupants of the Nissan Armada or any other vehicles. That fact, while fortunate, does little to ease the weight of what happened on that stretch of freeway during the early morning rush.
At first, the collision blocked three eastbound I-580 right lanes. The closure grew to four lanes while investigators dispersed to record tire tracks, debris patterns, and vehicle locations. For around three hours, commuters were stuck in traffic while tow trucks retrieved the flipped Tundra and workers cleaned debris. The concerns persisted even after the freeway reopened in the middle of the morning.

CHP investigators continue to search for the semi truck and its driver. They have asked anyone with information to contact the Dublin CHP office. Officials have not released details about what caused the initial collision. Speed? Lane changes? Mechanical failure? The answers are not yet public. The investigation remains open. And a family in Danville is left waiting.
