After the untimely death of 22-year-old Kayden Shane Miller on February 24, 2026, the whole town of Salado, along with his loved ones, is in deep mourning, the community is struggling with great loss.
He was born in Round Rock on January 26, 2004, finished his high school career at Salado High School in 2022, and was well-known for his kind disposition, glowing face, and deep love for everyone he met.
Kayden held the position of cherished offspring to Justin and Leigh Miller and served as a protective older sibling to Kalan and Kinleigh. He maintained intimate connections with his grandparents Buddy and Brenda Miller, Linda Hayman, and broader family relations, together with his intended fiancée Danielle Roby and her parents, all of whom treasured him immensely. His presence infused comfort, amusement, and tenderness into every assembly and each commonplace day.
From 2022 through 2025, Kayden demonstrated genuine bravery and dedication to public service as a volunteer firefighter with the Salado Volunteer Fire Department. Throughout his developmental years, he participated enthusiastically in numerous athletic pursuits encompassing soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, and cross country running.
He also distinguished himself particularly in archery where he secured state qualification on two occasions and national qualification once. Additionally, he engaged in competitive fishing representing Georgetown and Salado high schools, earning recognition including 7th place Angler of the Year during the 2018-2019 season and 2nd place in 2021-2022.
Individuals acquainted with Kayden affectionately recall his constructive energy, authentic empathy, and the effortless manner in which he made others feel at ease and appreciated. He possessed a distinctive capacity to illuminate any environment and generate joyful recollections through his gentle disposition and quiet resilience, attributes rendering him someone universally sought as company.
A gathering for viewing will occur on Friday, February 28, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Country Church in Salado, followed by commemorative services at 2:30 p.m. honoring his existence. Kayden will be interred adjacent to his brother at the IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown. The family requests that floral tributes be substituted with contributions to the Salado Fishing Club in his memory, acknowledging his enduring enthusiasm for outdoor pursuits.
