LaTia Ann Taylor died unexpectedly at home on April 3, 2026. She was 29 years old. LaTia was born on May 15, 1996, in nearby New Hartford, to Charles Taylor Sr. and Cheryl Platt Taylor. She grew up with strong ties to the local community and graduated with the class of 2015 from Rome Free Academy. After high school, she established a steady career at All Seasonings Ingredients Inc. in Oneida, where her dependability and upbeat outlook made her a valued presence every single day.
She was loyal to Maurice “Man” Garrett for a long period. Z’nyrah A. “Z” Garrett, their cherished daughter, was nurtured by them together. Whether it was via easy projects at home or short trips that deepened their relationship, LaTia treasured every chance to make unique memories with her family. Her kid was everything to her, and she gave her all to ensure Z’nyrah felt supported and loved.
LaTia had a natural gift for kindness and compassion. She made others feel truly valued, not through grand gestures, but through a quiet smile, an encouraging word, or simply showing up when someone needed support. She filled gatherings with laughter and song, and she loved listening to pop and early 2000s R&B tracks, which always seemed to lift the mood of any room she entered.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., there will be a viewing in honor of her at Eannace Funeral Home Inc., which is situated at 932 South Street on the intersection of Hammond Avenue in Utica. At 3:00 p.m., her Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue.
