Qualeisha Barnes known as “Siditty” Death – Pregnant woman shot dead in SE Atlanta

Atlanta police launched a homicide investigation early Wednesday morning after officers discovered a woman fatally shot inside a vehicle on the 2900 block of Springside Place. Authorities were dispatched around 1:23 a.m. following reports of a person shot, according to Atlanta Police Lt. Christopher Butler.

When officers arrived, they found a 36‑year‑old woman unresponsive in the driver’s seat of an SUV. She had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and investigators confirmed she was already deceased when first responders reached the scene.

Family members later identified the victim as Qualeisha Barnes, known professionally as “Siditty.” Barnes was a Detroit‑born rapper and an Atlanta‑area nursing student who had lived in the city for nearly a decade. Her family confirmed she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of her death.

Investigators said the SUV had come to rest on Springside Place after the shooting, and early evidence indicated that multiple shots had been fired into the vehicle. Police have not yet released information about a suspect or motive, and the case remains in its preliminary stages as detectives continue gathering evidence.

Barnes’ family told reporters she had been preparing to travel to Detroit later that morning to visit her sister, who often cared for her during her pregnancy. Loved ones described her as ambitious, creative, and excited about becoming a mother, noting that she had been planning a gender‑reveal celebration.

Her death has left both the music community and her family grieving deeply. Tributes have poured in across social media, and relatives say they are seeking justice as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
