Baltimore Teen Tyonna Pierce, 15, Fatally Shot; Family and Community Mourn Digital Harbor Student

Tyonna Pierce, a 15-year-old freshman at Digital Harbor High School, is being remembered as a beautiful, happy baby by her family, a quiet soul who would give you the shirt off her back once she got to know you, and a vibrant presence whose life was tragically cut short in a shooting early Sunday morning, February 15, 2026.

Her aunt shared memories of a girl who was inseparable from her friends and cousins, always sticking close to those she loved, a sentiment echoed by neighbors who described Tyonna as sweet, outgoing, respectful, and humble, a girl who simply did not bother anyone.

The last time Tyonna’s family saw her alive was at around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, unaware that just a few hours later, their world would shatter. According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers responded to a home in the 2100 block of Druid Hill Avenue in the Druid Heights neighborhood early Sunday morning. There, they found Tyonna suffering from a gunshot wound, and she was rushed to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.

At Digital Harbor High School, Tyonna was deeply loved by her friends, who are now grappling with the sudden and violent loss of a classmate. She was in her first year at the school, just beginning to navigate the world of high school, and was known to be kind, generous, and helpful to those around her. The grief of her peers is compounded by the senseless nature of a life ended far too soon.

The investigation into Tyonna’s death is being led by the Baltimore Police Department’s Homicide Unit, which has not yet released information regarding any suspects or a possible motive. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made, and the community is left searching for answers while a family prepares to bury a child.

Those who knew Tyonna remember a girl who meant the world to her family, just as they meant the world to her. A neighbor who knew Tyonna and several other teens in the area spoke of them as very nice kids, respectful, and humble, reiterating that Tyonna was a sweet girl who did not bother anyone. Her memory stands in stark contrast to the violence that claimed her.

Anyone with information about the fatal shooting of Tyonna Pierce is urged to contact the Baltimore Police Department Homicide Unit or Metro Crime Stoppers to help bring those responsible to justice. The 2100 block of Druid Hill Avenue has become a site of mourning, a place where a 15-year-old girl’s life ended, leaving a family and a community to grieve a beautiful, happy baby taken far too soon.
