On Sunday night, a shooting on a residential street in Los Angeles claimed the life of a thirty-year-old man. On February 1, 2026, around 8:10 p.m., there was a gunshot at 2233 South Hobart Boulevard, which is located east of South Western Avenue. This place is located in the Adams-Normandie area of the city.
According to Los Angeles Police Department officials, two men were standing outside an apartment building on Hobart Boulevard when two other men exited a vehicle, approached, and fired shots at them. The suspects then got back into their vehicle and fled the scene. Police described the incident as a targeted shooting.
The 30-year-old victim, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office as Damon Neal, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. A second victim, initially described by police as a 19-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not provided an update on the younger victim’s condition.
Police have not publicly identified any suspects in the shooting, nor have they released a description of the vehicle used by the gunmen.
