The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of a married couple found inside their Guthrie home Sunday evening as a murder-suicide. Authorities have confirmed the identities of the deceased as 46-year-old Meredith Kimani, also known as Meredith Hipshire, and her 49-year-old husband, Mark Kimani.
The tragic discovery was made on the evening of Sunday, February 8, 2026. Deputies were dispatched to the couple’s residence at approximately 6:20 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance. The home is located near the intersection of North Midwest Boulevard and East County Road 76 in a rural area of Logan County, north of the city of Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Upon entering the home, responding deputies discovered both Meredith and Mark Kimani deceased inside. Logan County Sheriff’s officials have stated that based on evidence at the scene and a preliminary investigation, they believe Mark Kimani shot and killed his wife before turning the firearm on himself.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, processed the scene. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to assist with the official investigation and to transport the bodies for autopsy to determine the exact causes and manner of death.
